What makes true love?
Belonging, commitment, loyalty, celebrating the fun and the tears?
When Glen and I married 17 years ago, we created our own order of service and included my poem written in 1978 when I was 13.
And it’s still my view of what makes true love.
Love is patient, love is strong, love is there when things go wrong.
Love is thoughtful, love is kind, love can bring peace of mind.
Love is honest, love is good, love does everything it should.
Love is sweet, love is fine, love never wastes any time.
Love is great, love is small, but most important, love is all.
Whether it’s a new life, celebrating partnerships or in memory , taking the time and effort to celebrate our feelings for one another is what life’s about.
