When the day had a cloud in its pocket
And I didn’t know where I was at,
Tabatha would make me feel better-
I could always rely on my cat.
When people at work had annoyed me
And I couldn’t be bothered to chat,
Tabatha would be there on the doorstep-
I could always rely on my cat.
When friends came to dinner or parties
And we’d sit outside chewing the fat,
Tabatha would ask for a cuddle-
I could always rely on my cat.
When we came back from our travels
And my spirit was weary and flat,
Tabatha would be there with a purr and a smile-
I could always rely on my cat.
When my heart was awash with emotion
And I felt like I’d been hit with a bat,
Tabatha would do something funny-
I could always rely on my cat.
When I realise now she’s not with me
And there’s an empty place where she once sat,
I know Tabatha is waiting for me-
I can always rely on my cat.
