My dear Jim on this special day, I hope these words will illustrate
Everything you mean to me as 30 years we celebrate.
We’ve had our share of ups and downs and many trials as man and wife,
But with love and understanding we’ve met the challenges of life.
I bless the day our paths crossed on the train from Gatwick into town,
Your thoughtful gifts of flowers that lift me when I’m down.
Since you retired from IT you’ve had more time to devote
To the hobby of your family tree and your ‘new’ Nissan Note.
Thursday is your evening in when you order takeaway for one
As I work late into the evening but I know when morning comes
Without your time to get up nudge I could stay in bed all day,
For I still have a full-time job and I can’t afford delay.
You’re always so encouraging as I’m not a morning girl.
I’m so fortunate to have you as we celebrate ourPearl.
On that day back in the 80s all eyes were fixed on Di
As she prepared to wed her Prince on that Wednesday in July.
But I was quite oblivious, I thought of only you,
As we made our vows and promises and sealed them with ‘I do.’
So my dear Jim I’ve one hope on this special day,
That on our Ruby wedding I’ll have another chance to say,
Just how much I love you, I’m so glad you’re in my life,
I appreciate the things you do and I’m proud to be your wife.
